Research shows Acupuncture can double chance of having a baby with IVF

Every human body is different. Every pregnancy is different. Our bodies don’t always function the way we want them to. In a world where we have so much control and access to the world at our finger tips, there is still so much we cannot control in our own bodies.

Acupuncture for fertilityThis is certainly the case when it comes to pregnancy. However, there are ways acupuncture, alongside other assisted treatments such as IVF, can guide and assist our bodies in the right direction.

The study of acupuncture and fertility has been a much researched and debated issue for decades. Many studies show a direct correlation between successful pregnancy rates in women and couples trying to conceive (both non-assisted and assisted) and the use of acupuncture.

A recent article published by  The Telegraph outlines how a British study has found that rates of success were twice as high among those having the acupuncture therapy. “This study is interesting in that it does seem to show a statistically significant difference” states Stuart Lavery, consultant gynaecologist at Hammersmith Hospital.

Unfortunately there is no quick solution or magic formula.. however with more research and access to randomised assessment, the future looks promising.
