In men it is used to promote sperm count motility and hormone balance.

Acupuncture Enhancing Fertility

In order to become pregnant, exercise, diet and stress free living all help. Not always as easy as it may sound. We have many systems working in our body such as the vascular, nervous, endocrine and a most important energy system. A blockage in or the stagnation of this energy will lead to disharmony and poor organ functioning. The causes for this stagnation can be biological, physical and/or emotional. Stress, anger, depression, sadness, worry and the effects of fatigue and overwork are just a few of the emotional affects impacting upon our energy system.

Chinese Medicine discovered over 4000 years ago that by inserting very fine needles in special points along specific energy pathways (called meridians) in the body it is possible to release any blockage or stagnation in this vital energy system and restore health throughout the entire body. I also use it with great success as a complementary treatment for those couples attending fertility clinics for IUI (intra uterine insemination), or IVF (in vitro fertilisation) or other forms of aided conception. It is effective in improving the function of the ovaries, uterus and endocrine systems involved with fertility in women and for sperm count and motility in men.
