Other Therapies

In addition to practicing acupuncture, I also trained in General Nursing and in Midwifery. I also studied and successfully completed a number of alternative therapies training in the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Dublin and continued received certified qualifications in Shiatsu/ Acupressure, Holistic Massage, Indian Head Massage and Rei-Ki, all of which I have provided a short explanation of below for your ease of reference.

Shiatsu/Acupressure

Shiatsu/Acupressure works on the same principles as acupuncture but uses thumb/finger pressure on the channels of energy flow. This pressure penetrates thought the muscles to the deeper energetic levels of the body and to the autonomic nervous system. It is very effective in reducing pain and helping the body cope with stress.

Holistic Massage

This is a revitalising Swedish massage practiced with Ayurvedic and aromatherapy oils. It stimulates the circulation of blood and lymph. It tones up and refreshes tired and aching muscles and helps relieve such problems as shoulder, neck and back pain and general stress of daily living.

Indian Head Massage

Indian head massage increases the blood flow to the scalp, relieves tension in the neck and shoulders, It helps relieve sinus problems and eliminates toxins from the body.

Reiki

Reiki is a gentle palm healing where the Universal Qi (Energy) is directed through the hands of the practitioner to re-balance and stimulate the individual’s own energy healing system. It is calming, relaxing and generally improves total health and well being.
